About the Company
1
What routine maintenance is required?
Keep the case and terminals clean and dry, check bolt torque periodically to prevent loosening, avoid deep discharge and overcharge, verify charge voltage stays within range, and measure individual voltages in strings. Maintenance-free batteries need no water topping, and the safety valve must never be opened.
2
What does the battery warranty cover and what is excluded?
Coverage applies to material and manufacturing defects. It excludes failures caused by overcharging, undercharging, deep discharge, incorrect charge voltage, poor terminal contact, physical case damage, high-temperature operation, unauthorized disassembly and failure to charge or maintain per the manual.
3
There is corrosion or white crystallization on the terminals. How to fix it?
The white crystals are usually sulfates, caused by poor terminal contact, gassing during charge or persistent damp. Disconnect power, clean with warm water and a little baking soda, dry thoroughly, apply petroleum jelly or terminal protectant, and check bolt torque and seals.
4
The battery case is bulging. What should I do?
Bulging is usually caused by overcharging, excessive charge voltage, a blocked safety valve or an internal short. It is irreversible and a safety risk. Stop using it immediately, isolate it, and send photos with your usage and charge parameters. We will assess it under the warranty terms.
5
Is reduced capacity and hard starting in winter normal?
Yes. Lead-acid capacity drops about 20 percent at 0 degrees Celsius and about 50 percent at minus 18 degrees, while higher oil viscosity increases cranking resistance. Check the charging system before winter, keep the battery fully charged and choose a higher CCA model.
6
The battery cannot recover after a deep discharge. What can be done?
If open-circuit voltage falls below 10.5V on a 12V unit and remains there for over 30 days, irreversible sulfation is likely. Try a low-current recovery charge at 0.05C for 24 to 48 hours; if capacity remains below 80 percent, replacement is advised. Fit low-voltage protection to avoid discharging below 50 percent depth of discharge.
7
How should the charge voltage and current be set?
General guidance: charge current at 0.1C to 0.2C, cycle charge voltage 14.4 to 14.8V and float 13.5 to 13.8V for 12V maintenance-free, with temperature compensation of about 3mV per cell per degree Celsius away from 25. For series strings, multiply the per-unit voltage by the number of units.
8
Is significant heating during charging normal?
Slight warming is normal, but a noticeably hot case above 45 degrees Celsius is abnormal, usually caused by excessive charge voltage or current, an internal short or high ambient temperature. Stop charging immediately and report the charge parameters and infrared temperature photos.
9
The battery will not hold charge and runtime is short. What now?
Common causes are sulfation from chronic undercharging, excessive depth of discharge, low charge voltage settings or an internal short in one unit. Please provide charge parameters, discharge current and measured runtime so we can determine whether it is a usage or quality issue.
10
The battery will not accept charge. What should I do?
Check in order: charger output voltage, reversed polarity, whether open-circuit voltage is too low and has triggered protection, oxidized or loose terminals, and ambient temperature below 0 degrees Celsius. Deeply discharged batteries should first be revived with a low-current recovery charge.
11
Is a low voltage on arrival normal?
Maintenance-free batteries ship fully charged, so a 12V unit should read above 12.6V open-circuit and a 2V cell above 2.10V. Readings below 12.4V may result from long transit or storage. Please record and report them and we will guide recharge or handle under warranty.
12
What if batteries arrive damaged or leaking?
Do not touch the electrolyte directly. Isolate the damaged units and wear protective gloves and goggles, then take photos and videos including packaging, carton marks, damage and serial numbers, and contact us within 48 hours. Neutralize spills with baking soda and never pour them into drains.
